Country superstar Reba McEntire and her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, have been dating for three years now, and they are not shy to share their love story with the world. The couple recently talked to People Magazine about their relationship, their hobbies, and their plans for the future.

How they met

McEntire and Linn first met in 1991, when they both worked on the Kenny Rogers movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. They kept in touch over the years, but it was not until 2020 that they reconnected and started dating. McEntire revealed that she and Linn began texting and talking on the phone during the quarantine, and they found out that they had a lot in common.

How they inspire each other

McEntire and Linn are not only lovers but also friends and partners. They inspire each other to grow and learn new things. McEntire said that Linn has taught her a lot about history, politics, and current events. “He’s very smart,” she said. “He keeps me up on what’s going on in the world.”

Linn, on the other hand, said that McEntire has inspired him to be more creative and adventurous. He praised her for being a talented singer, songwriter, actress, producer, and entrepreneur. “She’s amazing,” he said. “She can do anything she sets her mind to.”

How they balance their busy schedules

McEntire and Linn are both very busy with their careers, but they make sure to find time for each other. They often travel together, whether it’s for work or pleasure. They also enjoy staying at home and watching movies or cooking together. McEntire said that they have a lot of fun no matter what they do. “We laugh all the time,” she said. “He’s got a great sense of humor.”

McEntire and Linn also respect each other’s independence and space. They don’t feel the need to be together all the time, but they always stay in touch. One of the things that McEntire and Linn enjoy doing together is scaring each other. McEntire admitted that she was better at the playful game and shared her terrifying techniques. “I’ll sit there for 10 minutes and wait for him to come out of the bathroom,” she said. “Be down a dark hall and just be silhouetted… scares him to death. I think that’s the funniest thing in the world.”

Another activity that the couple loves is raising chickens. McEntire has always had a passion for animals, especially her farm animals. Linn, who hails from Texas, has no trouble fitting in on the farm. He even has a nickname for McEntire: “Tater Tot”. He shared a photo of them snuggled up together on a cooler outside with the caption: “❤️❤️TATER TOT. Angel on the ground (and on a cooler).”

How they support each other

McEntire and Linn have been there for each other through thick and thin. When McEntire’s mother died in 2020 at the age of 93, Linn helped her cope with the loss. “When you have somebody to share the grief with, when you have somebody to share the fun [and] the sad times, it’s always so much better,” she told Today. “And Rex is a very uplifting, positive man, and I love him with all my heart.”

Linn is also very supportive of McEntire’s career. He is very into her music and even joined her on the set of Big Sky, where they played a couple in season 3. McEntire said that they had a blast working together and that he was a great actor. “He’s very professional,” she said. “He knows his lines [and] he’s very respectful of everybody on set.”

What’s next for them

McEntire and Linn are not in a rush to get married, but they are very happy with their relationship. They look forward to having more things to look forward to, such as traveling, spending time with their families, and making more memories together. “We’re very stable,” McEntire said. “Whatever happens in the future, we’re good.”
