“Why should boys have all the fun?” Believe it or not, almost every Indian citizen has come across the advertisement where Priyanka Chopra shows off the newest offering from Hero MotoCorp – or shall I say, Hero Honda? – for the fairer sex. After all, the Pleasure was squarely aimed at young and, perhaps, college-going girls with its sleek design. That explains the tagline, right?

Hero launched the Pleasure in the Indian market in 2006. Back then, the Honda Activa was the only capable automatic scooter, but its heavy build and beefy design was an eyesore for the ladies. Therefore, Hero marketed the Pleasure for the ladies, with the tagline mentioned above.

This, in turn, helped Hero achieve cult status among the ladies. On the negative side, mature buyers and younger boys found the Pleasure to be too feminine, therefore, putting their money on the Activa. In 2019, Hero made some significant changes to the Pleasure, by keeping this in mind. But, what we have here today, is the older Pleasure, which is still a nice offering for the ladies. Engine

Unlike the newer Pleasure Plus, the scooter you see here is powered by a 102cc single-cylinder engine which is capable of churning out 6.91bhp and 8.1Nm of torque. It uses the good old air for cooling and comes mated to a CVT automatic transmission. As of early-2020, the engine is compliant with BS-IV emission standards, with Hero MotoCorp having revealed no future plans for upgrading it to meet the BS-VI emission norms.

Specifications

The Hero Pleasure is, without a doubt, one of the sleekest scooters in the space. Dimension-wise, the Pleasure is 1,750mm in length, 705mm in width, and 1,115mm in height. The kerb weight is quite legible at 101kg. The ground clearance, on the other hand, is 125mm. Other than that, the scooter has a wheelbase of 1,240mm and a seat height of 760mm.

Fuel tank capacity

The 5-litre fuel tank capacity of the Hero Pleasure is a bit of a downer for long commutes. The 63km/l ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency, though, is nice and assuring.

Mechanical parts

As you would expect, the Pleasure is tuned for a comfortable and cushy riding experience in the city. As far as hardware is concerned, the scooter rides on a bottom link with spring-loaded hydraulic damper suspension at the front and unit swing with spring-loaded hydraulic damper suspension at the back. As far as chassis is concerned, it is built around a high rigidity underbone type frame. The scooter runs on 90/100 – 10 – 53J tyres on both ends. For braking, it comes with 130mm drums as standard

Features

Keeping the aggressive costing in mind, a bare-bones feature list can be excused for the Pleasure. Even still, the scooter comes with CBS as standard for braking. The instrument cluster is divided into an analogue speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer. Moreover, the electricals miss out on LEDs altogether.

The Hero Pleasure, as of early-2020, is available in seven shades, namely, Matte Grey & Red, Matte Grey & Yellow, Matte Grey & White, Pearl White, Fiery Red, Bold Black, and Matte Grey.
