What is Otolaryngology?
Otolaryngology is an ear-, nose-and throat-centered medical specialty. It is also called otolaryngology head and neck operations as medical and chirurgical experts are educated.
An otolaryngologist is commonly referred to as a physician in the ear, nose and throat, or an ENT for short.
According to the Otorhinolaryngology Journal it dates to the 19th century, when physicians acknowledged that a series of interconnected structures had been present in the head and neck.
Doctors created methods and instruments to analyze and treat head and neck issues, which ultimately formed a medical specialty. It is the oldest medical specialty in the Indian country, according to the India Academy of Otolaryngology.

What do Otolaryngologists Treat?
Ear: Otolaryngologists are trained to treat hearing loss, ear diseases, equilibrium disorders, ear noise, nerve suffering, facial and cranial nerve disorders in medical and surgical therapy.
They handle also congenital (born) external and inner ear illnesses.
Nose: nasal cavity and sinus care is one of the otolaryngologists ‘ most important abilities. Allergies, sinusitis, smell, polyps and nasal obstructiveness caused by a deviated septum diagnostic, control and treatment by the otolaryngologist. The nose appearance (rhinoplasty surgery) can be corrected too.
Throat: Otolaryngologists have expertise in managing larynx diseases, including speech and swallowing disorders, as well as in the aerospace or the upper aerospace.
Head / Neck: Otolaryngologists, who treat both benign and malignant tumors, facial trauma and deformities, are taught in the head / Neck region to treat infectious diseases. Both cosmetic plastic and reconstructive operations are performed.
